The Centre in collaboration with the National Geodetic Survey (NGS) of the United States National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) installed a number of sea level monitoring (SLM) stations and Continuously Observing Reference Stations (CORS) in CARICOM Member States. The stations will monitor the rate of rise of the sea level in the Caribbean. Stations have been installed in Antigua and Barbuda, the Bahamas, Barbados, Belize, Dominica, Saint Lucia, Trinidad and Tobago and Guyana. Observations from these stations support high-accuracy three-dimensional positioning activities throughout the region. CORS data are used by geophysicists, meteorologists, atmospheric scientists and others in support of a wide variety of applications including the changes in sea level.
