CCCCC and IICA sign Technical Cooperation Agreement

The Caribbean Community Climate Change Centre (CCCCC) and the Inter-American Institute for Cooperation in Agriculture (IICA) on Monday, July 9, 2018, signed a Memorándum of Understanding (MoU) for technical cooperation between the two entities. The agreement will run for five years. Signing for the Centre is (from the right) Dr, Kenrick Leslie, executive director of the CCCCC and for IICA, Dr. Gabriel Rodríguez Marqués, head of Projects Unit, the Belize delegation.

The MOU signals a new level of collaboration between the two agencies, one specialised in the science of Climate Change and the other in Agriculture. The CCCCC is the regional body responsible for leading the Caribbean’s response to climate change. IICA is a 75-year-old specialist international agency for agriculture which is headquarters situated in Costa Rica. The signing took place in Belize where the CCCCC is located and where IICA has a field office.
