(City of Belmopan, Belize) The Caribbean Community Climate Change Centre (CCCCC) announce an Art Competition for citizens of CARIFORUM countries, using art as an instrument of communication in what is dubbed a “Speak Up” Campaign, aimed at boosting the voice of the Caribbean on climate change.

As a combination of island states and coastal territories, the Caribbean is a region most vulnerable to climate change, especially with our collective reliance on tourism and/or nature-based economies. This art contest is an activity for the project “Enhancing Climate Resilience in CARIFORUM Countries,” an initiative of the ACP Group of States funded by the European Union.

All CARIFORUM artists aged 3 years and older are called to submit original artwork that answers the questions: “How has climate change affected me? What is my message to the world on Caribbean climate change?” Entries will be evaluated based on: creativity, composition and clarity, theme interpretation, boldness, and issue impact.

CCCCC invites entries from all 16 CARIFORUM Member States: Antigua and Barbuda, The Bahamas, Barbados, Belize, Cuba, Dominica, Dominican Republic, Haiti, Grenada, Guyana, Jamaica, St. Kitts and Nevis, Saint Lucia, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, Suriname, Trinidad and Tobago. For four winning artists, this is an opportunity to have their work and opinion appreciated by the entire Caribbean and EU community, alongside a cash prize of USD$300.

• Contest period: Competition launches August 2, 2021 and ends August 31, 2021 at 5:00 PM EST.

el concurso “Speak Up” Competencia Artística sobre el Cambio Climático para los ciudadanos de los países del CARIFORUM  

Ciudad de Belice, Belice – El Centro del Cambio Climático de la Comunidad del Caribe (CCCCC) anuncian el Concurso Artístico para los ciudadanos de los países del CARIFORUM, utilizando el arte como un instrumento de comunicación que se denomina Campaña “Speak Up” con el objetivo de impulsar la voz del Caribe sobre el cambio climático.

Como combinación de islas y territorios costeros, el Caribe es una región bastante vulnerable al cambio climático, especialmente con la dependencia colectiva en el turismo y/o las economías basadas en los recursos naturales. Este concurso artístico es una actividad del proyecto “Mejora de la Resiliencia Climática en los Países del CARIFORUM”, una iniciativa del Grupo de Estados ACP financiado por la Unión Europea.

Todos los artistas mayores a 3 años del CARIFORUM están invitados a participar enviando sus obras de arte originales que respondan a las preguntas: “¿Cómo me ha afectado el cambio climático?, ¿Cuál es el mensaje que quiero compartir con el mundo acerca de el Cambio Climático?” Los trabajos se evaluarán en función de: creatividad, composición y claridad, interpretación del tema, audacia e impacto del tema.

MDL y CCCCC invitan a participar de los 16 Estados miembros del CARIFORUM: Antigua y Barbuda, Las Bahamas, Barbados, Belice, Cuba, Dominica, República Dominicana, Haiti, Granada, Guyana, Jamaica, San Cristóbal y Nieves, Santa Lucía, San Vicente y las Granadinas, Suriname, Trinidad y Tobago. Para los cuatro artistas ganadores, ésta es una oportunidad para que toda la comunidad del Caribe y la Unión Europea aprecie su trabajo y su opinión, junto con un premio en efectivo de USD $ 300.

le concours artistique « Speak Up » sur le changement climatique pour les citoyens des pays du CARIFORUM

Belize City, Belize – le Caribbean Community Climate Change Centre (CCCCC) annoncent le lancement d’un concours artistique destiné aux citoyens des pays du CARIFORUM, pour utiliser l’art comme instrument de communication dans le cadre de la campagne « Speak Up » (Faites Entendre votre Voix), visant à faire entendre la voix des Caraïbes sur le changement climatique.

En tant que combinaison d’États insulaires et de territoires côtiers, les Caraïbes sont une région très vulnérable au changement climatique, notamment en raison de notre dépendance collective à l’égard du tourisme et/ou des économies fondées sur la nature. Ce concours artistique est une activité du projet « Renforcer la résilience climatique dans les pays du CARIFORUM », une initiative du groupe des États ACP financée par l’Union européenne.

Tous les artistes du CARIFORUM âgés de 3 ans et plus sont appelés à soumettre des œuvres d’art originales qui répondent aux questions suivantes : « Comment le changement climatique m’a-t-il affecté ? Quel est mon message au monde sur le changement climatique dans les Caraïbes ? » Les participations seront évaluées sur la base de : la créativité, la composition et la clarté, l’interprétation du thème, l’audace et l’impact de la question.

Le MDL et le CCCCC invitent les 16 États membres du CARIFORUM à participer : Antigua-et-Barbuda, les Bahamas, la Barbade, le Belize, Cuba, la Dominique, la République dominicaine, Haïti, Grenade, la Guyane, la Jamaïque, Saint-Kitts-et-Nevis, Sainte-Lucie, Saint-Vincent-et-les-Grenadines, Suriname, Trinité-et-Tobago. C’est l’occasion pour les quatre artistes gagnants de voir leur travail et leur opinion appréciés par l’ensemble de la communauté des Caraïbes et de l’UE, ainsi que d’obtenir un prix en espèces de 300 USD.

“Speak Up” kunstwedstrijd over klimaatverandering voor burgers van CARIFORUM-landen

Belize City, Belize – Het Caribbean Community Climate Change Centre (CCCCC) kondigen een kunstwedstrijd aan voor burgers van CARIFORUM-landen, waarbij kunst wordt gebruikt als een communicatiemiddel in wat een “Speak Up” -campagne wordt genoemd, gericht op het versterken van de stem van het Caribisch gebied over klimaatverandering.

Als combinatie van eilandstaten en kustgebieden is het Caribisch gebied een regio die het meest kwetsbaar is voor klimaatverandering, vooral met onze collectieve afhankelijkheid van toerisme en/of op natuur gebaseerde economieën. Deze kunstwedstrijd is een activiteit voor het project “Enhancing Climate Resilience in CARIFORUM Countries”, een initiatief van de ACS-groep van staten, gefinancierd door de Europese Unie.

Alle CARIFORUM-artiesten van 3 jaar en ouder worden opgeroepen om originele kunstwerken in te dienen die de vragen beantwoorden: “Hoe heeft klimaatverandering mij beïnvloed? Wat is mijn boodschap aan de wereld over klimaatverandering in het Caribisch gebied?” Inzendingen worden beoordeeld op basis van: creativiteit, compositie en duidelijkheid, thema-interpretatie, durf en de impact van het probleem.

MDL en CCCCC nodigen inzendingen uit alle 16 CARIFORUM-lidstaten: Antigua en Barbuda, de Bahama’s, Barbados, Belize, Cuba, Dominica, Dominicaanse Republiek, Haïti, Grenada, Guyana, Jamaica, St. Kitts en Nevis, Saint Lucia, Saint Vincent en de Grenadines, Suriname, Trinidad en Tobago. Voor vier winnende artiesten is dit een kans om hun werk en mening te laten waarderen door de hele Caribische en EU-gemeenschap, samen met een geldprijs van USD $ 300.
